Coach Kelly's Pre-AP PreCal and Algebra 2 classes made mousetrap cars as a project and they tried them out today!




Varsity girl's basketball team will start the playoffs on MONDAY in Kountze against either Hardin or East Chambers.
The time has not yet been determined.

Baseball scrimmages scheduled for today have been cancelled.

Softball will travel to Kountze to scrimmage the Lions today @ 4:30.

In case you haven't heard, our Eagle Band earned 28 medals at the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest @ Lumberton this past Friday.
Medals for superior performance in a Medium Ensemble were CaiLee Stephenson, Savannah Ludewig, Qays Syed, A'Niyah Betts, Zander Duckworth, Amber Kennerly, Katlyn Haskett, Marshall Helm, Mark Jones, Core Shankle, Lucas Guan, Hawk Hughes, Ethan Vinson, Savannah Melton, Wyatt Shepherd, Austin Haskett, David Lowe, Logan Ludewig, Kyson Hensarling, Kyler Hensarling, Isaiah Farr, Karen Campos, and America Janis.
Earning medals for superior performance in a flute quartet and qualifying for the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Austin (May 30 and June 1) were CaiLee Stephenson, Savannah Ludewig, Adrianna Stark, and Kayla Haskett.
Superior solo performance and state contest qualifier goes to Zander Duckworth!

We will do a tri-scrimmage with HJ and Jasper, in Jasper, on Friday at 4:30 & 6:00.

Today we celebrate our counselor, Emily Bryan in TWO ways!!
Congratulations, Ms. Bryan on being selected as January’s Employee of the Month!
Ms. Bryan has done a great job helping students and creating a positive learning environment for our students and staff. She is a fierce advocate, but she does not hesitate to “tell it like it is” if necessary. Her smiling face is a bright spot for WHS!
Also, Happy Belated National School Counselor Week, Emily Bryan. We are so glad you are feeling better this week! We are lucky to have you at WHS!! Thank you for all you do for every one of us!

Congratulations to junior Izzy Narvaez, student of the week for January 30. Izzy is a 3 year cheerleader, a winning powerlifter and a State Qualifier in Congressional Debate. Izzy is in the top 10% of her class and plans to study Physical Therapy in college. She is described as a strong leader at WHS!

The Lady Eagles Softball team had a good showing last night with a 7-3 scrimmage win over Hamshire Fannett. Kendal Wilroy led the way at the plate with 2 home runs for the Lady Eagle!!


Congratulations to sophomore Omari Lewis, Student of the Week for January 20. Omari is a standout athlete who plays baseball, basketball and football. Omari is active in his church and sings in the choir. He is known to be a kind and helpful student. His teachers describe him as diligent and postiive every day!
