Wheat Parents The campus lost power about 15 mins ago. Our phones will not work without electricity. I will post when electricity is restored. There is No reason for panic. Everyone is doing great!! If you have an emergency you can contact your teacher using remind.

WISD varsity football will play Karne’s City ISD on Saturday, September 5th at 6 p.m. at Edna ISD stadium. Information on tickets, including previously purchased tickets will be released tomorrow. There will be no JV game this week.

Diboll has cancelled the football games for Thursday and Friday night. At this time we are continuing to look for games to replace them. Information on new games will follow as soon as we have it.

PreK Parents, Due to a COVID case and keeping student’s safety as top priority, we will do PREK CLASSES ONLY by remote for this coming week. Teachers will reach out to you Monday. We are going to take advantage of this time to schedule mandatory beginning of the year testing. This will allow 1-1 testing with the students. Sorry for any inconvenience! Safety first!

Due to the mandatory evacuations south of our county and the impact it will have on traffic and the ability to get to campuses, Woodville ISD will go to remote learning for Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be no face to face instruction. More information will be provided as it becomes available over the next day or so.

Due to the uncertainty of the impending storms/hurricanes, the football games against Newton on Thursday and Friday and the volleyball games against Hardin Jefferson on Friday have all been cancelled.

Woodville ISD would like to assure parents and the community that we are monitoring the weather in regards to the tropical storms. As we learn more about the storms and their potential impact on us, we will make the decision to "move to remote learning" or "close school for instruction", if necessary during the affected times. We will provide information ASAP as decisions are made and information becomes available.

Reminder, today, Friday August 21st, is the last day to change your instructional delivery commitment for the first 6-weeks. If you have any questions or desire to change your commitment, please contact your campus office ASAP.

In an effort to keep our students healthy and safe during the pandemic and to ensure effective contact tracing if needed, only students assigned to bus routes will be allowed to ride the buses to and from school (and then, only their assigned bus). "Friends" of bus riders will not be allowed to ride on route buses. Parents of bus riders should make alternate travel arrangements if other students are visiting or staying over with their child.

Just to clarify, the advertised ball cap shields that are being offered can be worn with any ball cap and can be worn to school. All students are being offered the choice of a neck gaiter or ball cap shield at no cost, additional items can be purchased by students/parents and are being made available to the public for $10.00 ea.

Wheat Parents We were so excited to see all the kids at Meet the Teacher. It was a great feeling to have them back in the halls. If you did not get to attend meet the teacher, please call tomorrow to find out the teacher's name. As we get ready for Thursday, I have some important information about arrival and dismissal. Arrival Unfortunately, because we won't be able to control the crowd, social distancing, and possible exposure, parents will NOT be able to walk their child to the classroom. Parent will not be able to enter the building. We have a photo opportunity for you by the front door. Please take advantage of it all week. Thursday & Friday--For Kinder, 1st, & 2nd grade, drop off time is 7:20-7:50. For PreK, drop off time is 8:00-8:20. Dismissal In order to social distance the students during dismissal, we have a new procedure. At Meet the Teacher, car rider students were issued a number on a car tag to hand from the rear view mirror. (If you didn't get one, please call the office tomorrow.) Since this is new to the staff and parents we are going to have different dismissal times to practice the new procedure. If you have multiple kids on campus, they will be dismissed with the youngest grade level in your family. Please be aware of the times for Thursday & Friday ONLY. Since parents will not be able to walk students to class Thursday and Friday, we provided a photo opportunity at the entrance. It will be taken down Friday afternoon, so please take advantage.

FAQ We have been asked a lot today about issuing students computer and devices for remote learning. The campus is NOT issuing devices for remote learning. When you signed the commitment form, you were agreeing to have a device per child and reliable internet to stream videos. See the attached commitment form. Please call us if you have any questions.

Wheat Parents Just a reminder Meet the teacher is tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 10th from 10-6. Please check our Facebook page or website to see the schedule to minimize number of people in the building. Please limit guest to Parents and students. Anyone 10 years old and older must wear a mask. A health screening and temperatures will be checked before entering the building. Also for our security system all adults must have their drivers license for entry. Please bring student’s supplies. We can’t wait to see the students!!!!

TxConnect Parent Portal moves to Ascender Parent Portal!!!!!! The Woodville I.S.D. Ascender Parent Portal will be available for parent access and use beginning July 27th. Parents/guardians of RETURNING Woodville ISD students will receive a letter in the mail that contains their student's Portal ID. After receiving the letter parents of RETURNING students can use the link to access the Ascender site. It will be necessary for all "new" parent portal users to set up a new account by clicking on the "New User" link and following the registration instructions. If you already have a Parent Portal account, it is NOT necessary to create an account, your information remained the same from last year. If you have trouble opening your current account, you will need to verify your email for contacts at your child's campus. Your email address must be the same entered on your child's registration information. Due to changes in registration procedures, all students must pre-register for the 2020-2021 school year. Registration deadline is August 7.
