Woodville ISD has recently conducted a facilities study as a part of a District Long-Term Strategic Planning process. We are currently pulling together a team of experts and community members to review the information from the facilities study, prioritize district facility needs, and develop a plan for improvements, renovations, and/or new construction to address those needs. This work will be one of the most important undertakings in our district as the plan will be presented to the school board and will be the basis upon which future facility decisions are made. We want and value the community’s thoughts and ideas on how that should look in our district so that we can begin making it a reality for our students.
The first meeting of this team (WISD Facility Task Force) will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 in the Elementary Cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. We will serve a simple buffet-style meal followed by a short orientation and presentation on school enrollment, programs, facilities and finances. If you are interested in participating please plan to attend.

Due to weather and predicted road conditions, WISD will be releasing at 3:00 today, Tuesday, May 18th. Buses will also run at 3:00. We will move to remote learning for the remainder of the week. More details about remote assignments will be made available through campus websites and the remind app. All school related activities for the remainder of the week have been cancelled with the exception of the baseball playoff game. Details and/or changes to that game will be posted on school social media. Please follow district and campus websites and social media for all updates and current information.

WISD is having school today, Tuesday, May 18th. We are having a 2 hour delayed start. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal.

This is an update. Due to weather conditions, Woodville ISD will be releasing early at 2:00 today. Buses will run and students will be released at 2:00. Tomorrow morning, 5-18-2021, buses will run 2 hours later and all campuses will have a 2 hour delayed start. Monitor social media for any updates.

WISD is monitoring the weather and any anticipated flooding due to the rain. At this time, we are not planning an early release for today, 5-17-2021. If you feel your circumstances require the need to pick up your student early we certainly respect that. Please continue to monitor our social media pages for updates and information.

Spring Band Concert
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It’s almost time for our second band concert of the year! Your students have been working on several songs for the past couple weeks and I am very proud of the progress that they are making.
Woodville is still under a mask mandate and are taking precautions to ensure the safety of your students and family. We will be giving out FOUR tickets per student that is in the band to hand out to family members. Only four people per student will be allowed to be physically present for the concert due to trying to limit the summit to 50% capacity. Every other row will be blocked off so that social distancing is in effect. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me via phone or email!

Our Spring Concert will be on:

Black shoes are required (as long as they are black they are fine. I do not want you to have to buy new shoes unless you absolutely want to).If you have questions about what this may look like please call or email me!
Grading: Grading in band is primarily based on two areas: Participation (50%) and Concert Attendance (50%). Concerts are a required part of band. The student cannot miss it and pass this class. Please contact me immediately if there is an anticipated conflict with the concert.
Please encourage your family and friends to attend the Tuesday concert and support your student. The concert will be about an hour in length and will include the Woodville beginner band, 7/8th grade band, and High School band. I always encourage everyone to stay for the entirety of the concert to show support for the other groups as well as listen and see the growth of musicianship in just a few short years. However, it is not required that you stay for the entirety.
I am so proud of your students and how much we have accomplished so far this year and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for us!
Please reach out if you have any questions!
