1-11-21

This notice is being provided in compliance with TEA notification requirements.  Earlier today, Woodville ISD received confirmation that a student who attends  Wheat Elementary tested positive for COVID-19.  The individual was last on campus on January 7th, 2021. You are receiving this notice, because you or your child was present on the campus in the seven days prior to the individual’s diagnosis of COVID-19.  Your child may also have been present with this student through participation in athletics, band, theater, etc.

WISD’s Mitigation Plan provides for extensive cleaning and sanitization protocols, as well as screening, social distancing procedures, and the wearing of face masks and/or shields. As such, CDC guidance provides that the risk of someone contracting COVID-19 from the student is low.   If you or your child was determined to have been directly exposed or in close contact with the individual, you were contacted by a district employee or the Public Health Department.

Please continue to closely monitor your health. Should you exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 as identified below, please contact your health provider immediately as this may indicate a possible COVID-19 infection. In addition, please continue all other safeguards outlined by the CDC including frequently washing your hands with soap and water, avoiding touching your face, wearing a mask/shield in public, staying home if you feel sick, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.

We appreciate your cooperation and continued support of our Woodville Eagle community as we work through these unprecedented challenges.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gina Greaff
